As a playwright, producer and performer Amarantha's original plays draw on the mystical story and song lines of her Afro-Caribbean, Indigenous American and West African ancestral spiritual traditions to light powerful awakenings. Productions include "Oshun", "Ilarun: The Cutting Comb", and "River Mumma and The Golden Table" and "They Came for Cane" (finalist for the 2026 Griffin Award).
She is also a performance / theatre creator who partners with companies to design performance experiences that inspire their audiences to unlock the magic of their cultural lineage, clarify their purpose, and ignite their creative flow. She is the Director of Light & Bright Live Performance Pty Ltd.
Alongside telling stories, Light & Bright offers consultancy for organisations and governments, helping them reimagine, revitalise and design performance spaces and community engagement. She bring fresh perspectives that bridge creative practice with corporate strategic planning, commercial and engagement goals.
Her consultancy helps festivals, theatres and organisations interested in building culturally aware programming and community engagement. Creative consultancy offerings can be combined with workshops or performances aligned with the needs of your project or the ethos of your business.

Meet Amarantha
Born and raised in Kingston,
Amarantha is a Jamaican / Australian performer, producer and playwright whose work elevates and celebrates Afro-Caribbean magic, culture, mysticism, history and might.
As a dancer her style is a riveting mix of contemporary and Afro-Caribbean forms. Her 20-year career as an artist spans Jamaica, Canada, The UK and Australia. From performing on stage in British Columbia, to producing music videos for Sean Paul and Shaggy in Kingston, to producing events and plays and consulting to arts organisations in Australia, she is an enigmatic and wildly creative cultural leader and voice.
